Excise Tax
In January 2022, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), including Dubai, does not have a federal excise tax. However, it’s important to note that tax laws and regulations can change, and new developments may have occurred since my last update.
The UAE implemented excise tax on certain goods such as tobacco, sugary drinks, and energy drinks starting in 2017. The tax is applied at the federal level, meaning it is consistent across all emirates, including Dubai.
For the most accurate and up-to-date information on excise tax in Dubai or the UAE, I recommend checking with official government sources such as the UAE Ministry of Finance or the Federal Tax Authority (FTA). Additionally, you may want to consult with tax professionals or legal experts who are knowledgeable about the current tax regulations in the region.
